New multi million dollar takoradi campus

As part of efforts to promote Education in Ghana, Trans Africa College has embarked on an ambitious project to establish the first Beach Front University in Ghana. Unlike most of the region’s institutions, Trans Africa College will provide world class standards of education so as to produce graduates that would help in the transformation of the continent.

The ultra-modern campus will be a boost to education in the oil city of Takoradi in the Western Region and its surroundings. Trans Africa partnered with U.S. and Canadian institutions to accomplish this mammoth project. Mr. Samuel Segbefia, Director of the college said the opening is one of the successes the academic entity has chalked out since its inception in 2003.

Mr Segbefia was speaking during a seminar for multimedia and creative practitioners to highlight the new technological strategies in the media. The seminar dubbed: “Gathering of Media Professionals,” was organised by the Media and Technology Centre of the college.

The event was to build the capacity of media practitioners in today’s multimedia industry and unveil the college’s new multi-million dollar Takoradi Campus.

Topics discussed at the seminar included; Current Production and Management Techniques, Strategic Media Marketing, Film, Television and Radio Production and Broadcasting Business Solutions.

The rest are Digital Broadcasting Platforms, Social Media Strategies, Relationship Marketing and New Media Technologies.

Reverend Professor Nyarko, Rector of Takoradi Polytechnic advised the youth to take up the many opportunities education offers them to transform their lives through skills acquisition. He urged them to build careers that could compare them to others around the world.

He said the college has infused in the new era of education with creative thinking and innovation to provide students with the required skills.

The seminar had about 200 participants drawn from Accra, Tema, Sekondi-Takoradi and its environs
